Squirtle Cosplay

So this is my Squirtle cosplay in which I debuted in this years NYAF 2009.
I'm really proud of this, the entire outfit was designed by myself and it was the first time ever that I sewed anything in my life so its an accomplishment and a start for me cause its not going to be the last time I make a costume ^^

The only thing I really bought was the petti-coat that went underneath the skirt (cause that was hard to make) but everything else I did. Even the shell!

The shell was made entirely out of cardboard, shaped and cut to size, and then wrapped in brown material. The white that trim is foam that was spray painted (I might change that in the future because it chips too easily) drew the lines with a marker and added small brackets on the inside to hold the strings to sit on my back like a backpack and I got my shell

And the hat was made by the awesome and good friend X3 I commissioned her again to make me another one for this costume and that was when my costume was complete

Only thing about these pictures is that you cant see my tail it's there though XD I wanna have a photoshoot with this cosplay so maybe then I can get a better shot ^^
